Hands-On in the Community

We are committed to causes that care for people in our community, regional needs often created by natural disasters, and the needs of people around the world. We believe when we can help, we must. Service above self - always a guidepost
to our commitment to people with needs.

We fully review applications from causes near and far before making an investment of financial resources. We encourage causes to visit our Resources section and click Downloads for our Community Service Project Guidelines and our Online Grant Funding Request application.

We look forward to reviewing your application. Often we pair our financial investments with hands-on work and involvement by our Club members and often Rotarians from throughout our area and District.

We are proud of our investments of more than $1,000,000 distributed by Fig Garden Rotary since our inception in 1978.

Youth Exchange
Investing in youth and global awareness

Rotary Youth Exchange builds peace one young person at a time. Students learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become global citizens. Exchanges for students ages 15-19 are sponsored by Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries.

Our Youth Exchange program is paused during the COVID19 pandemic. We look forward to better times when we can reengage young people who become part of our Club and community from around the world.

Vocational

High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society.

Our Vocational Service programs at Fig Garden Rotary focus on work with Interact and Rotaract Clubs, Rotary-sponsored groups on high school and college/university campuses.

Because of COVID19, these programs are paused and will resume in the future when safe to do so and when schools return to on-campus learning,

We also provide Job Shadowing through our Vocational Services programs. The students who shadow FGR members join us with their job shadow host at a regular
luncheon meeting. This is another program paused due to the continuing pandemic.

Vocational Service programs also include “craft talks” by members at a club meeting. These brief talks give members an opportunity to know more about one another and often include business and career, family, and interests.

Causes
Where Financial Gifts Matter

Rotary is dedicated to causes that build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever.

We promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene, grow local economies, save mothers and children, support education, protect the environment and end polio forever.
